The Montana Manufacturing Extension Center (MMEC) is a statewide member-based manufacturing outreach and assistance center staffed by full-time professionals with extensive experience in manufacturing and business in a variety of industries. MMEC can assess your current business operations and help you grow, innovate, and enhance processes and profits. It's home office is in the College of Engineering at Montana State University, Bozeman, with remote offices in Billings, Missoula, Kalispell, and Great Falls. MMEC has provided worthwhile assistance to improve top-line and bottom-line growth to over 1,000 clients across Montana (in 54 of Montana's 56 counties).
Founded in October 2013, the Montana Photonics Industry Alliance is a statewide member-based organization or network of Montana’s optics and photonics companies, entrepreneurs, laboratories, and universities to commercialize, grow and sustain globally leading organizations that create high quality jobs and economic opportunity in Montana. Optics and photonics are a significant component of the southwestern Montana economy. On a per-capita basis, Bozeman, Montana, has one of the highest densities of optics and photonics companies found anywhere in the United States. Many of these companies were founded by Montana State University graduates, often through MSU technology transfer.
The Montana BioScience Alliance is a statewide member-based organization that serves as a hub for Montana’s biotechnology companies, entrepreneurs, laboratories, hospitals, clinics and universities to commercialize, grow and sustain globally competitive bioscience companies.
Big Sky Economic Development (BSED) is a public-private partnership serving Billings, Montana, and the greater Yellowstone County. Over 145 of the county’s top businesses are member-investor partners in the EDC. The organization’s mission is to sustain and grow Yellowstone County’s vibrant economy and oustanding quality of life by providing leadership and resources for business creation, expansion, retention, new business recruitment and community development.
