We’re constantly refining and pushing our product further, and we’re looking for a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join our team. This is a great opportunity to work with a creative, strategic-thinking, and innovative team based in Bozeman, Montana.

What are we looking for?

Beyond building and maintaining web infrastructure, you’re able to coach and mentor other team members on the same. You should be able to demonstrate a deep knowledge of topics in our domain, including the LAMP stack, Multi Tenant architecture, Redis, and Job Queues. Given a desired outcome, you can formulate a plan and break it down into a schedule. Attributes we're looking for here are competence and leadership, and also a passion for helping to coach and improve the rest of the team.

 What you’ll do:

  • Building and managing various components of web infrastructure focusing on continuous integration, automated software releases, configuration management and system management in a high-availability cloud environment.
  • Conduct performance tuning, load testing, and optimization of information/data processing, maintenance and support of the production environment.
  • Provide expertise in and lead project work relating to networking (load balancing and traffic management choices) as well as security (SSL termination, cert management, etc.)
  • Use Configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc) to automate systems and processes.
  • Taking ownership of supporting, monitoring and optimizing production systems.
  • Help streamline software development by contributing to implementation of a continuous integration process and automating manual processes.
  • Provide expertise regarding the integration, security and scalability of web applications.
  • Responsible for reporting project timelines and progress.

What you bring to the table:

  • Experience supporting 24x7, high availability internet application environments that include web, application and database servers and load balancing systems
  • Working knowledge of web and application servers management and configuration (e.g. HAProxy, Nginx, PHP/Laravel, Angular, Redis)
  • Experience with build and deployment automation tools (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Experience with build automation and configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
  • Comfortable working under pressure in and adapting to an ever-changing environment. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain an approach to solving a problem
  • Clear understanding of networking and storage principles and architecture      

In a perfect world, you’d also have:

  • Experience working a multi-tenant Laravel application
  • Experience working with Rackspace
