Mental Health Support Specialist I (MHSSI) provides a variety of professional direct care services to children and families with direction, support and training from the Residential Education team. MHSSI participates in the creation and maintenance of a therapeutic milieu according to each child's treatment plan and agency philosophy. The MHSSI implements basic therapeutic interventions and develops relationships with all the children under the guidance of the Residential Education team and clinical direction of the Residential Therapist. The role is responsible for providing quality care and treatment to children and responds sensitively and proactively to the individual treatment and educational needs of the children.
The above knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through two (2) years related work experience. Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in a Social Science or closely-related field is preferred. Requires a valid Montana driver’s license.
