Job Description

The Training & Travel Assistant supports the administration and execution of learning & development activities. This includes online learning & development systems, live training events, remote training events, and any other learning & development related activity. Additionally, this position manages incoming travel requests and booking for the entire company. The position requires developing and maintaining detailed knowledge of company policies, procedures, products, and personnel.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Adhere to the company mission, values, and principles
  • Manage the daily administration of Guest Ranch, (including the training calendar), and
  • Utilize project management software to track and report on L&D project status’
  • Administer the 30-day employee survey program by sending out new surveys and tracking and reporting on survey responses each week
  • Receive and respond to all company travel and/or event requests
  • Coordinate flights, hotels, rental vehicles for all team members
  • Maintain break room screen content standards and contact authors as needed for updates and changes
  • Maintain L&D section of the HR dashboard by filling in data per the monthly schedule
  • Compile reports for the dept. and distributes based on a set schedule
  • Assist in processing and scheduling incoming training requests
  • Assist in designing, executing, and analyzing company surveys
  • Assist with department organization of files, digital assets, etc.
  • Assist in the logistical planning of live training events
  • Assist with studio filming including preparation, filming, and post production work
  • Assist in follow-up with required training completion
  • Assist in research for future training programs
  • Assist HR department with non-training tasks
  • Other duties as needed

Skill Set Requirements:

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Excel in a fast-paced, highly detailed environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to master all areas of Guest Ranch system based on the Wisetail LMS, and outside vendor systems including, but not limited to:, Stihl iCademy, YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, and Asana.
  • Ability to work odd or longer hours, and weekends during training events
  • Ability to work with confidential information


  • College degree preferred but not required
  • Previous learning and development experience preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
  • Close vision for PC work
  • Bending, carrying, and pushing
  • Heavy lifting (no more than 50 lbs)
