Yellowstone Forever is the official nonprofit partner of Yellowstone National Park. We partner with Yellowstone National Park to create opportunities for all people to experience, enhance, and preserve Yellowstone forever. Our combined operations include 11 educational Park Stores with gross sales of over $5.1 million; the Yellowstone Forever Institute, which offers more than 600 in-depth programs each year; a supporter program of over 73,000 Yellowstone enthusiasts raising funds to support critical park priority projects; and an online community of over 300,000 worldwide. Yellowstone Forever has provided over $106 million of cash support and over $64 million of in-kind support since 1933. Our mission of engagement and support through education and fundraising for the park will ensure Yellowstone remains for generations to come. 

The Accounts Payable Manager plays a critical role in Yellowstone Forever’s finance and accounting operations. This position oversees the cash disbursements of the organization. The ability to perform fast-paced tasks with a strong attention to detail is essential. Success in this position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks as the same time.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the systems and processes for the Organization’s cash disbursements

  • Manage the invoice and credit card processing in the Concur system

  • Process and distribute mail throughout the Organization

  • Support the Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer on contract management issues

  • Assist the Controller with the management and maintenance of the general ledger

  • Develop and execute an efficient process for filing annual 1099s by January 31 each year

  • Work with the Senior Director of Park Projects to process requisition requests from the park; ensure all projects are operating within budget

  • Support the Director of Finance on monthly closing goals

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information

  • Maintain strong relationships with staff at all levels of the organization

  • Represent Yellowstone Forever and its mission accurately and positively

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 1-3 years of experience in an accounting environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various software applications necessary to perform duties of position
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple functions and responsibilities to effectively meet deadlines
  • Commitment to excellence and ability to thrive in fast-paced work environment with high expectations
  • Strong commitment to the missions of Yellowstone Forever
  • Keen analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills which support and enable good decision making
  • This position may involve driving Yellowstone Forever vehicles, therefore applicants must hold and maintain a valid US driver’s license with a favorable driving record for insurance purposes
  • A satisfactory criminal background check is a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related Field

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise a team of employees

  • Experience in an accounts payable position

  • Familiarity with SAP Concur 

Compensation:
This is a full-time, year-round, exempt position, based in Bozeman. Travel between the Bozeman and Gardiner offices and throughout the park may be required as necessary. Salary is based upon experience.
