Job Description

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible to build new analytics applications to help Murdoch’s better serve customers. This position is responsible for leading engineering projects for our data warehouse platform and providing support for our internal business analysts to help deliver business intelligence and analytics solutions. This position requires a proven track record of delivering data warehouse, business analytics / reporting solutions, and data architectures that support self-service reporting and visualization (e.g. Power BI / Tableau)

Key Areas of Responsibility:
* Create BI and analytics solutions that turn raw data into action
* Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
* Develop integration packages to source data from new systems 
* Collaborate with business teams to define, design, build, and deploy BI solutions
* Partner with stakeholders to understand analytics needs and deliver solutions
* Improve performance and responsiveness of queries
* Work closely with tier 1 support and production engineering to ensure SLA and supportability of data warehouse and analytics applications

Skill Set Requirements:
* Willingness to continually learn and apply new technologies
* Hands on successful delivery of a variety of analytics and data warehouse development projects 
* In-depth understanding of database design, modeling, and architectures
* Performance tuning SQL stored procedures, queries, and indexes
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft BI technologies 
* MS SQL: (Required)
* SQL Server Technologies: T-SQL, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS (Required)
* ETL packages (Required)
* Microsoft Power BI (Preferred) 
* Azure DW / SQL experience (Preferred) 
* DW platform / ETL tools such as TimeXtender, Domo (Preferred)
