POSITION: Staff Development Specialist

FTE: Full Time, 40 hours

HOURS: Mon- Fri. mostly day hours, some evening hours required.

SUPERVISOR: Tara O’Donohue, Human Resources Director

WAGE: $15.36/hour plus benefits

CLOSES: Opened until filled

JOB SUMMARY: The Staff Development Specialist (SDS) is responsible for staff training and ensuring the quality of client programming. The SDS schedules and coordinates classes for all staff for required certification, provides staff with general orientation, Mandt training, reviewing PSP preps, purging client main files, purging staff dead files, completing quarterly PSP review, assisting staff in writing Action Plans and ISP’s, maintaining the seniority, evaluation and staff certification list.  Ensures CPR/FA instructor certification and quality control. Oversees the administration of the College of Direct Support. Assists with human resources duties as assigned.  Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:    Must be of legal age to perform the duties of the job.  High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.  Two years’ experience working with people with disabilities, or two years’ experience writing skill acquisition and behavior based client programming.  Additional education in the area of teaching adults preferred.
