The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (“Director”) is responsible for managing a comprehensive program that seeks philanthropic support from corporations and private foundations. The Director works to ensure that Montana State University’s (“University”) relationship with these constituent groups translates into maximum philanthropic support for the University. Key to the success of the Director will be an ability to build and maintain close working relationships with University partners to cultivate and solicit new corporate and foundation prospects in alignment with academic programs, strategic plans and needs of the University. The primary activity for this position is the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporate and foundation prospects. The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations reports directly to the Vice President of Development.
This Director collaborates with other Alumni Foundation development colleagues and works closely with University and Alumni Foundation leadership. This position requires public contact with high-level corporate and private foundation trustees and program directors, as well as other peer foundation and corporate relations colleagues.
Anticipated distribution of time and effort:
Required Experience: 5+ years’ experience in higher education fundraising, sponsored research development, development or constituent relations fields.
Education Required: Baccalaureate Degree in a related field; comprehensive continuing education in the fundraising and development field.
