Job Description

The Marketing Manager is responsible for driving Murdoch’s business performance through the development and execution of customer focused marketing campaigns.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Build marketing programs to support specific marketing objectives across different channels, product categories, brands, and customer segments.
  • Collaborate with other Marketing Managers and channel owners to develop lifecycle marketing initiatives that use customer purchase data to drive relevant and timely marketing efforts.
  • Develop business cases for improvements and/or changes to existing systems to support Murdoch’s ability to better understand our customers, how they shop, what they buy and when.
  • Evaluate the impact of marketing programs in achieving their stated objectives, including impact on traffic, sales, profitability, customer engagement and retention.
  • Coordination and collaboration with key project stakeholders to ensure customer experiences represent the breadth of the Murdoch’s brand, are consistent, and deliver on expectations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of marketing programs from start to finish, driving collaboration and alignment with stakeholders.
  • Be an advocate for the customer and how Murdoch’s supports their needs; drive evolution of Murdoch’s as a brand navigator, helping customers find what to buy and how to use.
  • Responsible for advertising and direct marketing strategy and execution.
  • Partner with and provide direction to external advertising agency, approve media strategies and plans and maximize the value they are delivering to Murdoch’s.
  • Partner with cross-departmental team members to drive increased understanding of our customer, develop marketing plans to support key product and service initiatives, and drive improvements in the overall customer experience.
  • Develop and manage associated budgets for marketing efforts; partner with Finance on budgeting, tracking, reconciling and forecasting.

Skill Set Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or related field
  • 4+ years in Marketing, preferably retail marketing
  • Experience building complex marketing campaigns, reporting and taking action on results
  • Track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships across Marketing, eCommerce, Merchandising, Customer Service, Store, IT, and other cross-functional partners. Must be able to collaborate with multiple business stakeholders.
  • Experience with CRM and/or CDP platforms; strong understanding of segmentation, persona development and how to build targeted marketing campaigns
  • Experience with content marketing
  • Eager to learn and excited to work collaboratively across departments to solve problems.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-channel marketing initiatives across advertising, direct marketing, social, store, and eCommerce channels
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Ability to use the data to "story-tell" in a compelling manner to drive understanding of what is needed to drive growth
  • Proven track record of bringing stakeholders and partners along with new ideas and changes to the current state
  • Experience developing and managing budgets
