POSITION OVERVIEW

The Accounting Associate will oversee MoFi’s HR accounting functions, which include payroll, benefits, insurance, and reporting. This position will also provide support for MoFi’s accounting department where needed.

The Accounting Associate reports to the Director of Finance and the position will be located in Missoula, MT.

THE JOB

1. Human Resources

  • Administers pay, benefits and leave for all employees. Processes monthly payroll for employees, 1099 contractors, and ensures accuracy of various payroll and human resource transactions
  • Ensures compliance with MoFi’s personnel policies and procedures
  • Onboarding & offboarding of employees through ADP
  • Process monthly 401K contributions
  • Monitor budget to actual of payroll and benefit costs, note discrepancies, and communicate those to management
  • Workers compensation reporting for all states (currently MT, ID, WY, UT, FL)
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal reporting requirements
  • Coordinate and manage open enrollment between employees and insurance carrier
  • Create and maintain various management and financial reporting requirements for payroll & benefits

2. Accounting

  • Monthly and year end reconciliations of payroll & benefits are completed timely and accurately.
  • Payroll liability management (healthcare, dental, vision, supplemental insurance, and retirement)
  • Support Senior Accountants and Managers with daily & monthly accounting transactions, bank reconciliations, and other tasks as assigned
  • Monitor & manage vendor contracts and agreements
  • Assist with audit and 990 requests

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, preferred
  • A minimum of five years of accounting and HR experience, preferred
  • SHRM Certification, preferred
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • High level of self-organization, self-awareness, and strong prioritization abilities

COMPENSATION

Salary is $60,000-70,000 based on experience. Additional compensation includes healthcare benefits; short and long-term death and disability; employer sponsored 401K retirement benefits; life insurance; holiday savings contributions; health club membership; and paid vacation, holiday, and sick leave.
