Julie Scates
Managing Partner
Julie was raised in the Rocky Mountains and has lived in Bozeman for 13 years. She is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for growth businesses, people, and self and is at her best when connecting all three. Julie finds great reward in cultivating opportunities for people who believe in hard work and want to work hard. Julie is the Managing Partner of The Work Spot and the glue connecting the founders to the next generation of the firm. In addition to The Work Spot, she is also the Founder/President of J2T Recruiting and teaches at MSU in the Master of Science in Innovation and Mangement program. Julie prefers walking meetings vs zoom, allowing work and play to intersect, while enjoying the beauty of Montana. When she is not working you will find her in her garden, on the tennis courts, or our local trails, usually with her faithful rescue dog, Rexford, by her side.
Lauren Kemp
Operations Manager
Lauren graduated from Montana State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in Latin American studies and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in innovation and management degree. She is the Content Manager at The Work Spot MT, a position that provides an avenue for her passion of writing and customer engagement. Lauren hails from Montana, giving her a deep connection with the company's mission of informing professionals on impressive and diverse companies growing in our state to ignite Montana careers. Her bucket-list items include touring the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina and taking an immersion trip to Chile to experience Latin American culture first-hand.
Jordan Gibbs
SEO Manager
Jordan was born and raised in Billings, Montana, but decided to move to Bozeman in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Montana State University. Upon graduation in the spring of 2021, he began working toward a Master of Science in innovation and management degree. Jordan is passionate about the outdoors and loves to hike and backpack around Montana in his free time. As The Work Spot MT’s Growth Manager, Jordan grows our audience on both the employer and job seeker fronts, and ensures the platform operates efficiently. When he isn’t in the office or deep in the backcountry, Jordan enjoys producing music, golfing, and playing board games.
